Line Camp

Line Camp

School comes to a close. Graduating seniors have hung their hats at Revue. Rookies have transitioned to New Girls at Banquet. The intensity of Officer and Social Officer Tryouts is a distant memory, and the new officers have worked hard to prepare for the coming year. It’s time for the team to come together, and LINE CAMP in late summer is the 3-day cloistered event that serves as the perfect setting. Line Camp brings together a dozen or so Drill Teams from near and far for a weekend of learning technique and routines and competing for various awards. The girls prepare for Line Camp by practicing daily prior to the weekend to learn a home routine and showcase it Friday night at camp. They wear matching practice uniforms daily, room together in hotel or dormitories, and work from early morning to late evening. Girls have a chance to try out for All-American Dance and Kick teams, and adoring fans, friends, and parents have an opportunity to watch our girls perform Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. In recent years, Line Camp has been held at The Renaissance Hotel in Richardson. Eaglettes confidently and proudly represent Richardson High School as they perform for professional instructors from American Dance/Drill Team®. The RHS Eaglette Drill Team is a small but mighty powerhouse, sweeping Line Camp awards under the direction of Liz Thompson.

Officer Camp

American Dance/Drill Team

As summer begins, the Eaglette Line Officers attend Officer Camp at SMU for four days.  They compete with more than 20 other officer squads from teams throughout the State of Texas.  They learn leadership, responsibility, how to work together and many dance routines.  The officers perform on the first night their Home Routine and on closing day two routines (choreography assignment and another routine) as the Social Officers, Escorts, other Eaglettes and parents come to watch.

Year after year the award winning Eaglette Officers come home with the premier awards
