Revue
The smell of spring is in the air. Tulips and daffodils color the landscape (thanks to Eaglettte flower sales!). The occasional Texas tornado sirens blare. Eaglettes spend every waking moment after school in the Auditorium, perfecting dances. Bald Eagles’ hammers and paint brushes are flying. Eaglette Booster Club moms rush about carrying food to feed an army of dancers, theatre techs, Escorts, and Bald Eagles. It’s time for…. EAGLETTE REVUE!
Traditionally held on a Saturday evening in mid-April, Eaglette Revue is the event that dancers, parents, friends, relatives eagerly await. Eaglette Revue, a collaboration between the Eaglette Directors and the RHS Theatre Department, is the night that culminates the year of dance study and performance. The themed dance recital features over 20 uniquely choreographed dances, elaborate props, comical fillers by RHS actors and Escorts, cheerleader and senior Eaglette formal presentations, the Rookie Eaglette debut dance, and a keepsake program booklet.
The event builds to the traditional climax of the night – our girls, in military uniform with a larger-than-life American flag as the backdrop, perform their kick routine to Neil Diamond’s America. Goosebumps fill the stadium as the officers rise from the pit, joining in on the last dance of the night. The night ends with the tradition of hanging of the hat by graduating seniors. Tears of RHS pride, bouquets of flowers, camera flashes close out the night of hard work and precision performances.
Tickets to the event can be ordered the few weeks prior and are sold at the door.
